retro richie.

i instantly made this super-retro shot of nicole with finger waves in her hair, crimson lips and ruby nails my desktop background. she looks effortlessly old school and i think she kills this style.

nicole richie for new zealand's remix magazine.

poll of the day.

okay, friends.
here are eight stunning free people looks.
got a couple favorites that you're swooning over?

look one look two
look three
look four

look five

look six

look seven

look eight

i'm in love with look four (hello sexy ripped up shirt, arm band, skinnies, vintage inspired boots and tiny handkerchiefs tied around for extra personal style).
in second place, look three (maxi cardi, yes please. itty bitty shorts, and vintage high-top gola sneakers. tomboy glam/everyday perfect look.)
and in third, look two (crop tops are spring/summer perfection, especially when paired with a white eyelet skirt, and i'm loving the socks and platforms combo).

spring hasn't quite sprung.... yet.

three of my favorite websites/companies have been teasing me daily with previews of their spring collections; editor wish-lists; upcoming trends and the like.
you see, this is both good and bad.

good because i get ever so eager for the next season upon us, and incredibly excited for all of the new trends i can soon shop for!
bad, however, because here in toronto, mother nature just blasted us with another blizzard, and it's going to be quite awhile before any of these sweet spring finds can be put to use!

looks like we're going to be seeing lots of my personal favorites this spring!!!
boxy, loose shapes! booties! minimalist! leopard! military! hats! crop tops and maxi skirts/dresses!
i couldn't be happier!
nothing is better than throwing on a flowy maxi skirt, with a pair of badass booties or gladiators, a cropped tee or tank, a scarf and a leather jacket. yep, i just decided. that shall be my spring uniform.... that, and a floppy hat.

white noise.

the snow really started to fall;

and it didn't stop.

the city was silent.

there were no more questions,

only white noise.

screen actor's guild awards.

my top five choices for this year's SAG awards:
the big winner of the night, and the belle of the ball [so-to-speak] for every awards show this season, sporting not only a beautiful white column gown, but also an adorable baby bump....
natalie portman in azarroportman's co-star in film favorite "black swan", and my absolute favorite frock [without an ounce of doubt - i declared it the winner before seeing any others] of the evening....
mila kunis in alexander mcqueen
sweet, stylish and sleek, yet stepping aside from her usual froufrou ballgowns....
lea michele in oscar de la renta
this floral and feminine gown was a stunning standout among a sea of neutrals....
claire danes in louis vuittona touch of grecian goddess, with a little layering and bare sides is sheer sexiness....
eva longoria in georges hobeika

the golden globes.

it was a big night in hollywood this past sunday.... awards season has officially begun - and the globes kicked it off!
from the witty saracasm, [introducing bruce willis, "and here comes ashton kutcher's dad"], mean-spirited jokes [introducing robert downey jr, "you may know him from such places as the betty ford centre and the california state prison"] and overall hilarious hosting job from ricky gervais; the sensitive moments [chris colfer's best supporting actor win for glee; natalie portman's acceptance speech for best actress in black swan]; even a we're-spying-on-you moment where angelina fixed brad's bowtie; and finally, there was.... the fashion.
my top ten
sandra bullock in jenny packham

mila kunis in vera wang

anne hathaway in armani prive

olivia wilde in marchesa

lea michele in oscar de la renta

catherine zeta jones in monique lhullier

leighton meester in burberry

emma stone in calvin klein

jennifer lawrence in louis vuitton

scarlett johannsson in elie saab

what was big?

emerald green. vintage inspired. sequins. femininity. blush tones. embellishment.
beading. flowing chiffon. sleek fits. one shoulder straps.
princess cuts. full bangs. ruffles. sparkle.
...and for every gorgeous gown on the red carpet, there are always a few missteps.
halle berry, while i envy your amazing genetics and ability to remain ageless, it looks as though you went out in a comfortable support bra. i am completely okay with the short skirt and sheer, long overlay, however the top just doesn't mesh.january jones is most definitely a style icon: she's always on trend and is willing to take risks. this time however, i think her dress is tasteless and there is far too much skin for a red carpet event. the excessive cleavage, cutouts and fringe skirt spell trashy, not classy.and last but not least, one of the actresses i was most excited to see on the red carpet, michelle williams. how could you let me down so? the girl is always effortlessly adorable, chic and edgy. this dress is all wrong: the color, the print, the floral applique straps, the empire waist, the side flutter, the cut.... i could go on. sadly, the most disappointing of the night.but, what would an awards show be without a few show-stopping couples?
hollywood royalty at its best - brad pitt and angelina joliethe healthy and handsome michael douglas and his stunning welsh wife, catherina zeta jones.and lastly, no awards show is complete without an array of dapper leading men sporting sexy suits.
robert downey jr. - the hilarious, charismatic and sexy presenterchris colfer - the endearing and adorable award-winnerjake gyllenhaal - the handsome and charming nominee
