if there's anything a self-professed, modern-day hippie [much like myself] adores, it's feathers, headbands, rings and turbans.

thank goodness for jillian wood, of headmistress, who satisfies my bohemian accessory cravings. this spring/summer 2011 she has made many a boho dream come true with her gorgeous and unique designs.

here are my top three lust-worthy pieces:

i am incredibly excited about this 2011 hair trend!

i just got a couple turquoise clip-in hair extentions, but this feather option is even cooler. a more hipster, funky option.

apparently there are salons in new york city that will show you the extensive selection of feather extentions, you pick the colors and length you want, and they bond them in your hair. they can last for roughly 4-6 weeks.

i'm thinking i may see if i can get it done when i visit new york at the end of the month!!

....so, tell me? should i try it? would you be willing to try this trend?

yess!!

the incredibly coveted "clarice" skirt by club monaco shall soon be mine!

my lovely friend [who works for cm] showed me their holiday lookback back in the humid days of summer, and ever since i've been lusting after this piece. the second sign i needed it? when my boss at flare had it brought in for christmas shopping guide and made it clear that every fashionista needed this in her wardrobe.

so, come october i got an email from club monaco saying the skirt would be in select stores. i quickly ran to the bloor street location and sadly enough, it was not yet available in canada. i impatiently waited another month, and yes, it finally was available to us up north.

now wait, surely after such desperate measures, it could not be so easy. only the eaton centre location was lucky enough to stock this beautiful feathered dream, and i soon got a text from said lovely friend mentioned earlier, and only size zero's were left. what could i possibly do now?

i scoured online and found that shopbop was carrying the skirt, although i really did not want to pay in american dollars, along with added shipping costs, the lack of cm's 20% student discount and the fact that it may not fit upon arrival.

my last possible option..... i went to the queen west location and had them do a country-wide search. ah-ha! one left in my size in this enormous country i call home. a store in quebec has one and is shipping it to me this week!! finally! my hard work has paid off :)

the clothing show.

on this early autumn morning, I bundled up, put on my new TopShop boots, grabbed a delicious pumpkin spice latte, and made my way to The Clothing Show at Exhibition Park. the main source of my attendance for this shopping venture was that headmistress would have a booth set up!! the HM space was definitely my one-stop source of shopping happiness as well.

i have a great love for [owner/designer] Jillian Wood's feather and fur accessories. they're a definite must-have for any edgy/hippie styled girl [much like myself].

today i spoiled myself with both a fur accessory [the Crowsnest Pass Fur Cuff], along with a feather ring. now i am anxiously waiting for the mailman to call and say he's waiting downstairs with a package from Twisted Muse Boutique in Halifax -- owner and dear friend, Johanna Galipeau ordered me in a couple treats! said package shall contain two more headmistress pieces- the Edgar Lake Faux Fur Headband [top photo on model] and a feather pin to add (when I want to create a different look), the Flatrock Pin [below].
